What: Ride For Play ‐ Mountain Bike Poker Run and BBQ
When: July 17, 2010
Where:
Registration for the Poker Run begins at 8:30 am at Vasona Park (Raintree Picnic Area).
Signs will be posted to guide you to the Raintree Picnic area. Parking is very limited, so try to
ride into the park if possible.
Poker Run begins from the Raintree Picinic Area in Vasona Park at 10 am. Riders will ride through
Vasona Park, through Los Gatos on the Creek Trail and up St. Joseph’s Hill in downtown Los
Gatos and then back to the Raintree Picinc Area in Vasona Park. There will be 5 check points
(signs will guide you to each checkpoint) where you will receive a poker card. There will be an
easier route and more difficult route. If you choose to go on the more difficult route there will
be an extra checkpoint where you may swap out one poker card to see if you can get a better
hand. The person who returns to Vasona Park by 12:30 pm with the best poker hand wins the
Poker Run Prize.
The BBQ will begin at 12:30 pm and end at 3 pm at the Raintree Picnic Area in
Vasona Park. Chicken or Tri‐tip sandwiches, chips and drinks will be provided by Los Gatos
Meats. You do NOT have to participate in the Mountain Bike Poker Run to attend the BBQ. Any
and all are welcome. There will also be a raffle for prizes – An Ibis Tranny Mountain Bike worth
over $4,500, and other prizes.
Why: Proceeds will be used to build a playground for Kharkiv Baby House in Ukraine. 100
children from age 0‐5 years old who will be given the gift of play.
